Overview

An Odoo Developer & Implementer is responsible for the development, customization, and implementation of the Odoo ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system for organizations. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their business needs, configuring the Odoo platform, customizing modules, and providing ongoing support for a seamless user experience. The Odoo Developer & Implementer also plays a key role in the training of users and ensuring that the ERP system is fully optimized for the organization.

Job Overview:

The Odoo Developer & Implementer will be responsible for the design, customization, development, and implementation of Odoo ERP solutions. This individual will collaborate with clients to understand their business processes, gather requirements, and translate them into Odoo configurations and customizations. Additionally, they will offer post-implementation support, ensure user adoption, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Odoo Customization & Development:

  • Develop and customize Odoo modules and applications to meet client-specific business requirements.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Python and other relevant technologies.
  • Create custom reports, dashboards, and workflows to enhance system functionality.
  • Integrate third-party applications and services with Odoo.

• Odoo Implementation & Configuration:

  • Lead the implementation of Odoo ERP from start to finish, including project scoping, requirement gathering, system configuration, and deployment.
  • Configure Odoo modules (Sales, Accounting, Inventory, CRM, etc.) based on business processes.
  • Assist in migrating data from legacy systems to Odoo, ensuring data integrity and seamless integration.
  • Ensure the solution is tailored to the client’s industry and business requirements.

• Client Interaction & Support:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the implementation process.
  • Provide regular updates to clients regarding project progress and timelines.
  • Offer post-implementation support to resolve any issues and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Provide user training on Odoo’s functionalities and best practices.

• System Maintenance & Upgrades:

  • Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the Odoo system.
  • Apply patches, updates, and version upgrades to the Odoo system as needed.
  • Conduct periodic system audits and implement improvements to optimize the ERP.

• Collaboration & Documentation:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and end-users.
  • Prepare detailed documentation for system configurations, customizations, and implementations.
  • Document code and provide clear instructions for future developers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience (typically 3+ years) working with Odoo ERP, with strong expertise in Python, PostgreSQL, and web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with Odoo module development, customization, and integration.
• Knowledge of Odoo’s various modules (Sales, Purchase, Accounting, Inventory, Manufacturing, HR, etc.).
• Familiarity with API integrations and web services (RESTful APIs, XML-RPC).
• Experience with database management and SQL, particularly with PostgreSQL.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Preferred Skills:

• Odoo certification is a plus (Odoo Developer, Odoo Functional Consultant, etc.).
• Experience with Odoo implementation in multiple industries (e.g., manufacturing, retail, services).
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile development teams.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
