Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and management of WordPress-based websites. This includes customizing existing themes and plugins, creating custom themes and plugins, optimizing websites for performance and SEO, and ensuring that all websites are responsive, secure, and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities:

• WordPress Development & Customization:

  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins according to business requirements.
  • Modify and customize pre-built themes and plugins to meet specific functionality and design needs.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, external services, and data sources into WordPress websites.
  • Ensure that websites are responsive, mobile-friendly, and optimized for a seamless user experience.

• Website Maintenance & Optimization:

  • Perform regular website updates, including WordPress core, themes, and plugins.
  • Optimize website performance, including page speed, SEO, and user experience improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to website functionality, performance, or security.

• Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with designers, content creators, and other stakeholders to bring web design concepts to life.
  • Work closely with the project manager to ensure that projects are completed on time and meet client specifications.
  • Communicate with clients and team members to gather project requirements and deliver updates.

• Security & Backup Management:

  • Ensure WordPress websites are secure and protected from potential vulnerabilities.
  • Implement security protocols such as SSL, firewalls, and regular security scans.
  • Set up and maintain regular backups to protect website data.

• SEO & Analytics:

  • Implement SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings and website visibility.
  • Set up and configure Google Analytics to track website performance and user behavior.

• User Training & Support:

  • Provide ongoing support to clients or internal teams, answering any questions regarding the website or its functionality.
  • Provide basic training on using WordPress dashboards and making content updates.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience (typically 2+ years) as a WordPress Developer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of WordPress architecture, themes, and plugins.
• Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience with MySQL database management.
• Familiarity with WordPress REST API and WooCommerce.
• Knowledge of responsive design principles and front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap).
• Experience with website optimization, caching, and performance testing tools.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and Google Analytics integration.
• Understanding of website security best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with version control tools like Git.
• Familiarity with website hosting environments and server management.
• Knowledge of other CMS platforms (e.g., Joomla, Drupal) is a plus.
• Experience with website migration and deployment.
• Familiarity with page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery).
• Experience with creating and managing custom plugins for WordPress.
